Since migrating from Lima to Naarm/Melbourne in 2020, Ximena Jiménez has documented the lives and expressions of Latinx and migrant communities across the city. Their practice spans artist portraits, music events, rallies and fashion projects. 

Ximena’s work explores themes of identity and resistance through dance, movement, and sensuality. In documenting the local queer BIPOC scene, Jiménez foregrounds the voices and perspectives of the people they work with, creating images that are attentive, intentional, and collaborative.
